Common Guitar Problems and Our Solutions

We see a lot of guitar issues, and we're here to fix them.

Problems We Often See

• Hard to Play: Many guitarists struggle with high action or string buzz, which makes playing a chore.

• Worn Frets: Over time, frets wear down. This kills your tone and makes the guitar harder to play.

• Bad Intonation: A guitar with poor intonation sounds out of tune, even if you're fretting notes correctly.

• Cosmetic Damage: Dings, scratches, and other wear can really hurt a guitar's look, especially for collectors.

• Poor Factory Setups: New guitars often come from the factory with setups that just aren't good enough, leaving players disappointed.

How We Fix Them

Topaz & Weston Instruments offers specific solutions for each of these common problems:

• Full Guitar Setup: Our setup service adjusts everything: action, neck relief, and pickup heights. This makes any guitar play better. We set up guitars to your personal preferences, creating a comfortable, natural playing experience.

• Expert Fretwork: We use precision Plek machines to level and polish frets perfectly. This technology creates a smooth playing surface and makes your frets last longer, benefiting everyone from pros to hobbyists.

• Intonation Adjustment: We thoroughly check and correct intonation issues. This ensures your guitar sounds in tune across the entire fretboard, which is crucial when playing with other instruments.

• Restoration Services: We handle vintage guitars with extreme care. We use techniques that bring them back to their original glory without compromising their authenticity. Our restoration work fixes both cosmetic and functional problems while protecting the guitar's value.

• New Guitar Setup Fixes: If your new guitar has a subpar factory setup, our experts adjust it to match your individual playing style. This dramatically improves your satisfaction with a new purchase.
